Daniyal Mueenuddin's collection of short stories titled In Other Rooms, Other Wonders effectively captures the dying feudal order that at one time ruled Pakistan and the changes brought on by this transformation.The stories, loosely connected by centering them around a central figure, a wealthy but aging landowner, run the gamut of characters and settings. Beautifully told, whether set in a Pakistan city or the remotest village, each story resonates with a conflict true to human nature.
