The Other Side of Thanksgiving

Man, I haven't blogged in a long time --- but two of my readers have emailed me and asked me what was going on... two readers. { That's actually one more than I thought I had}.

and to answer that...

well, I don't know.

It took me a while to recover from Thanksgiving -- all that eating, cleaning, eating, cleaning, laughing, and playing Foose Ball wore me out.

The 'phews had a pre-season tournament, and I played and only was successful at scoring goals for the other team -- something called "own goals" in the weird vernacular of basement talk around the table. At one point when I scored my "own goal," my nephew Glenn said, "Chill. Put the ball in."

Then, I did something to my neck.

How?

Did you ask how?

I'd say by being alive and old?

For almost two weeks, I've had this neck ache that likes to mess with me by moving about randomly. Sometimes it was totally in the neck -- the kind of pain that means I can't check out things to my right or left -- but then it would move to my shoulders so that I couldn't carry a small basket of bananas at Publix -- and then it moves to the upper side of my arm.

I was like Ahab waiting for Moby Dick to surface --- it was always a surprise as to where it was gonna be...

I'd be sitting on a couch and all of a sudden -- "ow, ow, my arm."

So, that's where I have been....

I have been on the "other side of Thanksgiving" and recovering from the preseason to Christmas.
